Shearling, Baby!

There's no news in the fact that shearling is how most designers want to keep us warm next winter - it's everywhere. Making the people already wearing it, seem, well, kinda cool :) That Balenciaga bomber, you know the one, all rich leather on the outside and cosy in - the stuff that proved Nicolas G knew what it was all about back in 03 - well one popped up on eBay and about 4 people told me in Paris i had to get bidding, alas it was not my size - but that stuff all of a sudden feels so fresh.

So when i saw this darling i had to snap, i loved her little ensemble - she reminded me that shearling is just right, and not just on the runway, it's quite perfect for those chilly days when the wind whistles right through your long wool coat. Then i opened The Gentlewoman and everyone's fashion hero Phoebe Philo sits wearing a vintage sheepskin coat, um, it looks amazing. So i took a little voyage around Style.com to seek out a few of my favorite Fall 2010 shearling numbers.

But better than shearling, what i love most about this post is how this little thing was just hanging admist the pre show madness, writing in the Tuileries sand, in her own little world, not bothered one bit, she's just dressed for comfort, for warmth, to get through her day happy - and after all, that's always the coolest.
